Routing a WebTic DID Number
A DID (Direct Inward Dialing) number is an inbound number that can be routed to any destination: SIP extension, trunk, IVR, voicemail.
Available routing types
| Type | Description | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| SIP URI | Routes to a SIP extension or a PBX server | Connection to your 3CX, Asterisk |
| PSTN Number | Forwarding to a standard phone number | Forwarding to mobile/landline |
| SIP Trunk | Routes via a specific trunk | Failover between carriers |
| IVR | Interactive voice response | Automatic welcome menu |
| Queue | Distribution among agents | Customer service, support |
Configure routing in the WebTic client area
- Client Area → DID Service → Select the number
- Routing tab
- Choose the destination type
- For SIP URI: enter the destination SIP address (e.g.
sip:extension@votre-pbx.example.com) - For PSTN: enter the number in E.164 format (e.g.
+33612345678) - Save — takes effect in less than 5 minutes
Conditional routing (based on schedule)
Configure different routing rules depending on the time:
- Opening hours (9h-18h Mon-Fri): Routes to the queue
- Outside hours/weekend: Routes to voicemail or an out-of-office IVR
- Public holidays: Specific route configurable with a calendar
Backup routing (failover)
Recommended configuration: 1. Primary destination: sip:pbx.votre-entreprise.com 2. Failover destination (if primary unreachable): +33612345678 (mobile) 3. Timeout before failover: 20 seconds
Testing the routing
# From Linux/Mac sipsak -s sip:YOUR_DID@sip.webtic.online -v # Practical test Call your DID number from a mobile Check that the call arrives at the right destination Check the CDRs in the client area → CDR tab
Common problems
- Call rings but no answer: PBX unreachable or port 5060 closed on the destination side
- Unexpected voicemail: Check the priority order in the routing rules
- Number not assigned (404 registration): Check that the DID is active and routed in the client area
