Number Porting to WebTic

Porting (or number portability) lets you keep your current phone number while switching carriers to WebTic. The number stays the same; only the network changes.

Required documents

  • Letter of Authorization for Porting (LAP) — WebTic form to be signed
  • Copy of your latest phone bill (current carrier)
  • RIO (Operator Identity Statement) — obtained from your current carrier
  • KBIS or ID (legal entity or individual)
  • Bank details if direct debit (RIB)

Obtaining your RIO

For French landline and mobile numbers:
→ Call 3179 (free call)
→ Your RIO is provided automatically by voice server
→ Format: 12 alphanumeric characters (e.g. FT12A3B4C5D6)

Porting times

Number typeStandard time
Landline number, mainland France7 to 10 business days
Mobile number, France3 to 5 business days
International geographic number10 to 30 business days
Number block (DDI)15 to 30 business days

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Open a WebTic support ticket with the porting request
  2. Receive and sign the LAP (Letter of Authorization for Porting)
  3. Submit: signed LAP + RIO + current carrier bill
  4. WebTic submits the request to the donor carrier via ARCEP
  5. Receive the confirmed porting date (at least 48h in advance)
  6. On the day: disconnection from the old carrier and activation on WebTic (generally between 8h and 12h)

Common reasons for rejection

  • Incorrect or expired RIO (valid for 30 days)
  • Account holder name differs between the LAP and the current contract
  • Number already being ported to another carrier
  • Current contract with a commitment period not yet ended (penalties may apply)

Service continuity

During porting, your number remains active with your current carrier. The cutover only occurs on the day and generally lasts less than one hour. Configure your WebTic trunk in advance so that the number is operational quickly after porting.
