Processing a full database
Beyond a few numbers entered by hand, file import lets you process an entire list in a single operation. The number of numbers per submission depends on your plan: 10 on Pay As You Go, 100 on Pro, 500 on Enterprise.
Preparing the file
- One number per line, with no surrounding text.
- International format is mandatory: country code included, for example
+41791234567. A national number without a country code cannot be routed to the right registry. - Remove spaces, dots and hyphens; they are a frequent cause of rejection.
- Remove duplicates before submitting: every occurrence is billed.
Process
- Go to the verification section of your customer area.
- Upload your file and start the processing.
- Retrieve the report once the batch has been processed, then apply the actions from the status table.
Most common errors
| Symptom | Usual cause |
|---|---|
| All numbers come back invalid | Country code missing |
| Part of the file is ignored | Limit of numbers per submission exceeded |
| Strange characters in the report | File encoded in something other than UTF-8 |
| The leading 0 has disappeared | Column formatted as a number in the spreadsheet |
In a spreadsheet, set the numbers column to Text format before typing or pasting. Otherwise, Excel removes leading zeros and converts long numbers to scientific notation.
